Got Pictures?

So, when I'm bored, I edit pictures.  These are three of my favorite edits so far.
This first one is Harry Potter.  I was inspired by my Harry Potter 3D glasses. :]

This one is inspired by snowy wintry themes. :]

And this is an edit of my new Mardi Gras mask.  I babysat for a family friend for the weekend and she brought me this mask and the one below from New Orleans. Aren't they pretty?

I love Mardi Gras and the Venetian Carnevale because they're just so festive.  I also love all of the masks and the costumes. They're so elaborate and elegant and beautiful.  I plan on going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and Venezia for Carnevale.  I just need to stop buying clothes and shoes and save up for these trips. Haha. :]

Evocations of Emotion

Victoria's Secret.  That brand name immediately makes me think of expensive butsexy and so totally worth it bras and panties.  It also brings to mind really nice clothing and shoes.  And what really comes to mind is the annual fashion show. One of the most extravagant fashion shows on tv.  Probably the only fashion show on tv.  The only problem with this show is that all of the models are super skinny and tall.  So for all of us shorter and chubbier girls, it evokes a period ofself-loathing.  It also makes every girl wish she were a VS model and it makes every guy wish he was dating a VS model.  But we watch it anyway. The VS Fashion Show is the guilty pleasure of both men and women alike.  No matter how bad it makes us feel.

This year's fashion show was split into the categories of Ballet, Super Angels, Passion, Aquatic Angels, I Put A Spell On You and Club Pink.

The Ballet segment was gorgeous with big, tulle skirts and laced up heels.  There were satin ribbons that laced up like pointe shoes.  There were wings full of feathers and dreamy, light colors.

The Super Angels segment had fun colors and long flowing capes with "Boom" and "Pow" written on them.

The Passion segment brought sexy colors and Spanish influences into the outfits.  Take Adriana's outfit.  Her outfit had aspects of Spanish Flamenco dancers.

The Aquatic Angels had colors from under the sea and fun elements of shells, pearls and seaweed.

I Put A Spell On You was boudoir at it's finest.  Corsets, fans and parasols from a romantic time period.

Finally was Club Pink.  Club Pink was a perfect representation of fun, flirty and bright colors.  It looked like the models were having so much fun during this segment especially.  There were light up and sparkling accents.  It was probably my favorite part of the show.

All together, the show was amazing, as usual.  The outfits were completely over the top and always sexy.  It was classic Victoria's Secret. It was pretty cool.

Fiore Rosa

My friend was a model in New Jersey Fashion week.  It was only right that as her best friend, I went to support her.  I had to look good.  We went to a bunch of different stores, and finally we entered H&M.  I found the perfect dress.  I don't remember how much it was, but it wasn't insanely expensive and I paired it with a pretty silver bracelet, little black Madden Girl pumps and a necklace with a pink stone that my friend let me borrow.  The dress was a deep pink, almost a magenta, and it had layered ruffles and bows and it was just beautiful.

Maybe I should have worn a different bra, but oh well. Now I know for next time.

Clothes, clothes and MORE clothes

So right now I have a huge Christmas list and all it has on it, is clothes.  I just cannot get enough.  Especially when it's cheetah/leopard print.  That is my absolute favorite.

I am a clothing junkie.  Shopping is my addiction.  Shoes and clothes are my heroine. Which is probably better than having an addiction to actual heroine...  I'm just obsessed with shopping.  It also doesn't help that I'm an impulsive shopper either.

Recently, I rediscovered Old Navy.  Surprisingly enough, Old Navy had some really cute stuff for cheap.  I bought this really cute off-white poncho sweater and a pair of brown riding boots for like $40 all together.  Not bad, especially since the boots were originally $40 on their own.
The boots
The poncho
How cute are they? And they're Old Navy, which really surprised me.  In a good way though. I paired them together with a pair of blue skinny jeans and a peacock feather necklace.  It was a good day. So many people told me they liked my outfit. I was happy.  I'm a curvier girl, so it worked well and I didn't have a muffin top, which is always so hard.

Overwhelmed and Distressed

This morning I awoke to terrible news. Ryan Dunn of Jackass and Viva La Bam had died in a car crash early this morning. He and a friend were driving in his car when it hopped the guardrail and caught on fire. Both died in the crash.

I first got wind of the news from my friend, who knows how much I love the Jackass crew. I had hoped she was just pranking me and didn't believe her at first. After reading the story from several different sources, I couldn't deny it any longer. I actually cried. I didn't know Ryan Dunn personally but it was still sad to hear. Especially since he, along with the rest of the Jackass/Viva La Bam crews were, and still are, some of my idols. Jackass was one of my favorite movies and Viva La Bam one of my favorite tv series.

Rest in peace Ryan. You will be missed.

Royalty and Weddings

Prince William and Princess Catherine, or Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had the wedding of the century.  It was beautiful, having been performed in Westminster Abbey.  There were millions of people watching, either having been invited, standing in parks and squares around London or watching the live screening on tv.
Princess Catherine’s dress was absolutely stunning.  It was perfect for her, and the location.  I loved the lace overlay.  She looked beautiful.  The ceremony was beautiful and moving.  E’ perfetto.
I did love all of the varying types of hats and head gear worn by the women in attendance.  Such an array of hats, I was amazed at some of them.
The choice of bridesmaids dresses, and Pippa’s maid of honor dress were beautiful.  The Queen looked regal.  It was just a splendid wedding.  If only I was there.

RutgersFest 2011

So I’m going to follow the RutgersFest trend, albeit I’m a little late.
Honestly, it was a big waste of my Friday.  3OH3! was the best part of my day.  Pitbull wasn’t bad, but I’m not the biggest Pitbull fan, so therefore, not my favorite.  Plus, towards the end of his show, a fight broke out.  Two guys started fighting, the one guy then was double teamed and knocked to the ground, into my shins.  Ouch.  I grabbed hold of his arm to help him up, only to end up with mudd all over my hands.  Wooh.  Plus, it was cold and cloudy.  Not the best weather.  There were sooooo many people.  I heard that there were like 50,000 people. Far too many in my opinion.
My friend and I were ditched by our other friend, which pissed us off.  The bussing and amount of people flocking to College Ave was just ridiculous.  It was awful.  I left Busch for Livingston at 10.  I did not catch a bus to College Ave from Livingston until 1 am.  College Ave was packed with cars, it felt like NYC.  What’s worse, my car was parked over by the hospital, so I had to cross College Ave, alone.  Terrifying.
Three/Four separate shootings, some kid was knocked out by a bottle, and a there were wayyy too many fights, most of them catfights.  Morons, all of them.  College Ave, well New Brunswick in general, is terrifying at that time of night, especially with that many people.  Drunk people. Two girls threw up on the LXc I was on, disgusting.  If you can’t hold your liquor, don’t drink it.
Overall, it was pretty shitty.  Couple suggestions for next year, if there is one:
1.  Get a better line-up.  Who is Yelawolf?
2.  Limit it to RU students only. The victims were all not associated with RU and the shooters probably were too.
3.  Have better security.  The amount of fights happening and the amount of drugs being done in the open were just appalling.  Plus, people were shitfaced by 11 am.  Honestly people, have some class.
4.  Have better bussing for the night.  Soo many people were trying to get to College Ave for house parties and the like that it looked like a scene from the Titanic whenever a bus showed up.
5.  Blow up rides?  You’re kidding me.  Are we in college or not? The best part of the “attractions” was the big q-tip fighting arena thing.  I have no idea what it is called, but it looked like a lot of fun.  But otherwise, there were blow up slides and bounce houses.  I do not approve.
6.  If next year is like this year, then maybe it should be cancelled.  I’m ashamed to say that I’m from RU after all of the shit that went down this year.  It was utter chaos.

On April 25 I will be silent for 25 hours to stop 25 years of war.  If you could donate anything it would be appreciated.  Not just by me, but by everyone involved.  Thank you.

Time and Confusion

Okay, what gives? I'm on spring break for a whole week with most of my friends, and all I want to do is SLEEP?  I do not understand.  I've missed them all so much, but really, I just cannot be bothered waking up to go see them. It's depressing me.  It's not like I have anything better to do.  I'm so confused, and apparently really lazy.

Oh well.

Abnormal is Normal

So I've decided that for me, being abnormal is normal and being normal is abnormal.  Someone tell me whether or not that makes sense, please and thank you.

Why should we be normal?  What do people get out of being normal?  Normal is just so boring.  I'd much rather be abnormal. It is a great way to express your personality.  Be who you are, not who you aren't. Don't conform.  Don't ever conform.  No matter what people say, you have to be true to yourself.  Don't hide who you are, ever.  Then you're just lying to yourself and everyone else.  You're hiding the beautiful you.  Whether you are geeky, gay, you like to mix patters and colors, you're emo, or anything else, you are perfect the way you are.  Whenever you're feeling down because someone criticized your hair, your outfit or even your laugh, put on Born This Way by Lady Gaga or Pefect by Pink and dance around your room.  Just love who you are.

Thats all I felt like saying today.  Too many kids have hurt themselves or committed suicide over something someone said or did and it needs to end. Prejudice and discrimination are two words that shouldn't even exist. It makes me terribly sad.

Maybe I'm a Dreamer

I do dream.  I dream a lot.  I have big, epic dreams.  Then I have overly ambitious dreams that make me want to do everything.  Either way, they're still just dreams and I'm notsure I can make all of them a reality.

I was listening to the radio, and I cannot recall which station it was, but Lady Gaga was on and she was talking about how she's lost weight.  She gave some pretty obvious answers and then there was this one that was not so obvious.  It was thedrunkdiet.com.  I figured I'd check it out.  It's a pretty good website.  This guy, Luc Carl posts everyday.  He doesn't just blog.  His posts are inspriational and helpful.  And he's not some certified PhD that is just in it for the money.  So check it out if you want.

My way to lose weight is ref, take martial arts classes and walk more than I used to.  Every once in a while I'll hit the gym.  I've started to feel better.  I like it.

Updating this is going to take remembering and time, which are not my strong points, so I'll update when I can.

Billie Joe Armstrong

January 20, 2011

I went to see Billie Joe Armstrong perform as St. Jimmy in Green Day's American Idiot.  He was amazing in that role.  It was one of the best plays I have ever seen on Broadway, I've seen it twice.  The characters are so real, the plot is nothing imaginary.  This play, everything that happens to these characters could happen to anyone.  That's why I like it so much.  It's a play with a universal plot line.  I suggest going to see it.
